What it does
A stone that exists in one place on earth, around the town of Larvik on the south coast of Norway. It flashes deep blue when the light catches it and gave our fireplace its heart and its name.
People buy a set for a refresh after years of evenings, for a second fireplace, or because stones went missing in a move.
Grounds the flame
The weight of stone and steel keeps a LA\VIK planted where you set it.
Scatters the light
The blue schiller catches the flame and throws it back, so the fire reads warm rather than flat.
Carries your fragrance
Warmed by the flame, the stone holds heat like a sauna stone and releases the oil slowly.

How to use it
- 1Bed the stones into the cold sand around the burner, large ones first on the LA\VIK, then the small ones into the gaps.
- 2Leave the burner opening clear. Stones belong around the flame, never over it.
- 3Drop fragrance oil onto the warm stone once the fire is lit, never into the burner.
- 4Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth when needed. No cleaner, no oil.

Questions
Do I need to replace the stones?
No. Larvikite does not burn, crack or fade. A new set is for a refresh, a second fireplace or stones lost in a move.
Why two stone sizes for the LA\VIK?
The big stones give the base its presence, the small ones fill the gaps so the bed sits closed and even. The Studio uses only the small grade.
How do I use fragrance oil with the stones?
Two or three drops on the warm stone once the fire is lit. The scent moves slowly through the room and nothing ever touches the flame.
